The Myles and Eugenia Sweeney Department of Construction Management at Wentworth Institute of Technology invites applications for full-time position at Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. The successful candidate can start as early as Spring 2018. He/she will be expected to (1) develop and teach undergraduate courses in different subjects including but not limited to Building Construction, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Construction Graphics, Construction Surveying, and Materials Testing and Quality Control; (there are also opportunities to teach graduate level Construction Management courses); (2) deliver professional services as well as Department/ Institute services; (3) engage in scholarly and creative activities; (4) establish strong relationships with the construction industry; and (5) possess excellent communication/ leadership skills.

The Myles and Eugenia Sweeney Department of Construction Management has 11 full-time faculty, two full-time staff, and more than 400 undergraduate students. It offers Bachelor of Science in Construction Management (BSCM) and BSCM with Facility Management (FM) track. The program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE) and was nationally ranked number 1 by College Factual in 2017. The curriculum includes several major-specific courses that have both lecture and laboratory components. The successful candidate will teach both lecture and laboratory sessions with a typical teaching load of 12 credit-hours per semester. The department has been investing in implementing advanced technology into the courses and has built a new BIM lab. The successful candidate is expected to be proactive in using this lab for the assigned courses. It should be noted that the university/ department does not provide teaching assistants. The university offers Master’s programs in Construction Management and Facility Management that are managed by the Department of Construction Management and taught online through the College of Professional and Continuing Education (CPCE).
Master's degree is required. Teaching experience at the university level is strongly preferred.
