The Department of Pediatrics within Wake Forest School of Medicine/Brenner Children's Hospital is seeking a dynamic leader as Section Head for Pulmonary Medicine at the Associate Professor or Professor level.
We seek candidates with proven leadership and excellence in clinical care, education, quality improvement and research. Candidates must be board-certified in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine and have (or be eligible for) a North Carolina medical license. The candidate is expected to participate in clinical care, education of trainees, research activities, and administrative responsibilities, including mentorship and career development of junior and mid-level faculty.
The Section includes an accredited Cystic Fibrosis Center, full range of inpatient and outpatient pediatric pulmonary services, and pediatric sleep medicine clinic. Priorities for the Section of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine include developing strategic program growth and innovative patient care practices, enhancing education and research programs, and recruitment. The ideal candidate will have experience in developing and growing clinical programs; have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills; be skilled in building team and collaboration; and have academic stature as an established clinical investigator and/or educator. Experience in pediatric sleep medicine (or Sleep board certification) is a plus but not required.
