At the Oregon Department of Transportation, we are recruiting for a ITS/traffic engineer in our Portland office to provide technical expertise and leadership in traffic engineering for staff, ODOT and stakeholders. Approves some traffic control devices which directly impact driver safety. Leads and directs the technical aspect of traffic designs and specifications. This position is primarily responsible for development, evaluation and deployment of new technology related to traffic engineering and intelligent transportation systems (ITS).

Minimum Qualifications: A valid professional engineer's (PE) license in civil, structural, or transportation-related engineering plus three (3) years of journey level professional engineer experience. Note: If registered in another state, successful applicants will be required to obtain comity within six months of hire.
Special Qualifications: Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
