The Department of Kinesiology, Sports Studies, and Physical Education (KSSPE) at The College at Brockport – SUNY is seeking a Lecturer to begin August 20th, 2018
Background: The Department of KSSPE maintains the largest student enrollment on campus and houses five majors (Athletic Training, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physical Education Teacher Education, and Sport Management). Exercise Science is the largest major within the department and has experienced significant student growth due to its commitment to quality teaching, laboratory-based learning, and consistent scholarship. Duties include: 1) Teach undergraduate classes in Exercise Science; 2) Serve as the Lab Coordinator; and 3) Provide service to the department as well as the college.
Required Qualifications: 1) An earned master’s degree in Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology; 2) the ability to teach courses in Exercise Science including: Exercise Testing and Prescription, Practicum in Exercise Programming, and Advanced Exercise Physiology; 3) the ability to teach a diverse student body; 4) the ability to manage a laboratory; and 5) the ability to provide service to the college community.
Preferred Qualifications: 1) Previous college level teaching experience in Exercise Science; 2) the ability to teach courses in Athletic Training for Exercise Science and Sport Nutrition; 3) ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist or NSCA CSCS certification; and 4) record of service at any of the following levels: department, college, professional, community.
