Intern – Geomatics / Geographical Information Systems
Merrick & Company is seeking LiDAR/GIS Technician student for a paid internship for Summer 2018in our Greenwood Village, CO office. The application deadline is November 30, 2017. Resumes will be reviewed in December 2017. Interviews will take place in January and February 2018and offers will be extended approximately February 15, 2018. The summer internship will run mid-May through mid-August 2018.
The internship will provide a currently enrolled student the opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and LiDAR processing. The intern will be exposed to a variety of projects ranging from large scale wide area mapping, NERC compliance corridor mapping, and small survey sites.
The position requires the collaboration with other technical staff, follow directions and schedules, work independently, possess good written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of degree program
Must be pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, Geomatics, or a similar major
Knowledge and/or courses in mapping, photogrammetry, and aerial LiDAR data processing including:
Principles of Geodesy
College courses in any of the following software packages are preferred:
Must have a current instructor recommendation or reference
