The Department of Emergency Medicine at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) is seeking board certified/eligible Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM) candidates. This faculty position is responsible for delivery of high quality medical services to children served by Children’s Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center (TMC), with opportunities to work at our community sites, Memorial Hermann Memorial City and Memorial Hermann Sugar Land.
Located in the Texas Medical Center, McGovern Medical School’s Department of Emergency Medicine is one of the nation’s largest academic EM programs, and is affiliated with one of the busiest trauma centers for children and adult. The Department has a fully accredited three-year residency training program with 53 residents, a research division, and ACGME-accredited fellowships in Ultrasound, Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Pediatric Emergency Medicine (PEM).
PEM faculty will supervise EM and Pediatric residents, medical and nurse practitioner students, and fellows. Our primary teaching site is Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital (CMHH) in the Texas Medical Center (TMC). As a certified Level I Pediatric trauma center in the greater Houston area, the hospital provides 24/7 emergency and trauma care to over 18,000 pediatric patients annually. With a complete panel of pediatric subspecialty services including dentistry, OMFS, and burns, as well as 24/7 access to MRI, psych response, and forensics, CMHH-TMC provides leading-edge care in trauma, neuroscience, orthopedics, cardiology, diagnostic radiology, and much more. Memorial Hermann Life Flight provides emergency rescue within a 150-mile radius. MHH TMC has achieved one of the highest levels of recognition a hospital can receive – Magnet recognition for excellence in nursing services by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Magnet Recognition Program.
Candidates must have a medical degree and be licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas (or eligible to be licensed). Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Pediatric Emergency Medicine is required.
