The Quality Control Specialist will work to improve quality by providing operational support for the QA program, and will ensure the compliance of government quality regulations. The Quality Control Specialist will be responsible for monitoring and documenting program performance in support of organizational goals and initiatives. Duties will include developing reporting procedures, sampling techniques, and policies to improve quality in relevant areas as needed. The Quality Control Specialist will coordinate with pertinent departments, hospitals, Radiology Data Registries, and government agencies such as ACR and CMS to ensure quality and governmental regulation compliance. The position assists (with Radiologist input) in determining areas for analysis and the appropriate metrics to ensure quality reporting is optimally useful. They must develop and implement plans for quality projects, including identifying necessary resources and determining timelines and milestones.
Experience: Four years of relevant medical experience (experience in Radiology preferred). Must have medical terminology experience. Must have experience quality improvement experience.
Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including letters, memos, and emails. Excellent attention to detail. Knowledge and understanding of the quality assurance process. Strong reporting and analytical skills. Must have ability to organize and prioritize work and manage multiple projects, research and analyze data, and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to use independent judgement to manage and impart confidential information. Database management skills including querying, reporting, and document generation. Ability to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgements. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, management, staff, and contacts outside the organization. Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Access), Adobe Acrobat, and internet resources. Ability to use document scanner, copier, fax, and PC.
