The Markey Cancer Center is currently seeking a Clinical Research Monitor to perform activities to support central operations of networks conducting multicenter studies in the treatment, prevention, and early detection of cancers. Position duties are specific to clinical research study monitoring, clinical research team and program audits, research training and education specialist, and clinical research study quality. Primary efforts are centered on monitoring investigator-initiated studies of the Markey Cancer Center Research Network and the Kentucky Clinical Trials Network portfolios. Through various quality initiatives, the Clinical Research Monitor will evaluate, support, and assure compliance and ethical conduct of Markey Cancer Center investigator-initiated trials conducted via the multicenter networks. Monitoring is performed in accordance with study specific clinical data monitoring plans developed for each study. This position will prepare monitoring reports for all visits conducted, managing action items and interfacing with members of the study project team. Duties require application of CFR, ICH, SOPs and oncology knowledge. The monitor will serve as a member of the study project team, escalating as appropriate and engaging the lead-investigator/sponsor-investigator, Directors, informatics, data management, project management and others as needed to assure quality of studies. In addition, the monitor is a member of the network coordinating center teams providing services to assure the quality of clinical trials and clinical research studies conducted with our partner research sites throughout Kentucky and surrounding Appalachia. Job related travel is within Kentucky and nearby states.
Minimum requirements for the position are a Bachelor's degree, CRA, CRC, CHRC, CCRP or other nationally recognized certification, and 7 years of related experience.
