Our Core Technology organization works with all our divisions to conceptualize, develop and produce fluoropolymer intermediates and composites for incorporation into Gore Products. We are seeking a Metrology Engineer to join our team in Elkton, MD.

In this role, your primary commitment will be to apply measurement science to evaluate, develop and validate measurement systems, provide technical analysis and resolutions of measurement challenges, and develop calibration methodologies and techniques.
The ideal candidate will: * Be passionate about providing manufacturing support for a world-class manufacturer * Be energized by collaborating on cross-functional teams * Recognize the importance of building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships Responsibilities include: * Driving the understanding of metrology technology to assure that our capabilities meet technical requirements, and represent the most appropriate technology available * Providing analytical support for the selection and validation of measurement and test equipment, and calibrations * Partnering with engineering & quality associates to investigate and resolve process and test measurement systems * Independently troubleshooting operational issues in a manufacturing or project environment and lead troubleshooting efforts with cross functional teams * Developing, implementing, and sustaining metrology documentation * Providing key input to the global metrology strategy for Core Technology * Projecting management for facility and equipment reliability improvement projects * Partnering with Calibration Team to: * Develop calibration strategies for production, QC test and R&D equipment * Provide ongoing technical support to enhance calibration efforts
Required Job Qualifications: * BS or equivalent experience (e.g., ASQ CCT, PMEL, EE, ME) * Minimum of 3 years' experience in metrology engineering * Project management skills * Excellent organizational skills * Strong written and oral communication skills * Proven ability to effectively partner and influence colleagues in a variety of functions including Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Process Engineering, and Equipment Design * Demonstrated ability to work well within teams or independently * Strong knowledge of instrumentation and calibration practices * Knowledge of statistical concepts and tools * Knowledge of systems and controls (electrical, mechanical, pneumatic) * Ability to: * Apply mathematical, scientific, technological tools * Analyze and interpret data * Assess and manage risk

Temporary residents (visa holders) and non-US citizens are not eligible Desired Job Qualifications: * Working knowledge and application of Metrology and Quality standards (e.g., GMP/QSR regulations, ISO 17025, ISO 13485, ISO 9001) * Experience performing process & equipment validations in accordance with ISO & FDA guidelines * Experience with Quality Systems, Product Life Cycle Management, and FMEA This position requires access to export-controlled areas and information.
