Hexcel is currently has opportunities for Quality Engineers in these Hexcel locations: Casa Grande, AZ; Salt Lake City, UT; Burlington, WA; and Pottsville, PA. You will work closely with customers and assigned value streams to introduce new products, reduce waste and eliminate process/product issues. Implement quality procedures, policies, systems and methods to meet customer quality requirements.
The selected individual will be responsible for, but not limited to the following obligations:
Spend time on the production floor investigating quality non-conformances, recommend and/or implement corrective actions. Ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability of processes and quality controls. Maintenance and improvement of ISO 9001/AS9100 quality systems
Perform factory process audits and external audits (both customer and supplier, and both on and offsite). Evaluate audit findings for root cause and corrective action
Interface with customers to insure compliance with customer requirements
Supports and engages in the Environmental Management System (EMS), ISO 14001. Providing leadership and direction of bill of material (BOM) planning
Communicating with customers, marketing, and customer service to resolve problems associated with deliverable products and ensure that products meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations
Facilitating root cause analyses and mistake proofing of processes to resolve repetitive quality issues. Coordinate cross-functional teamwork.
Conduct quality training
Coordinate lab testing for verification and validation of raw materials and process testing
Creation and direction of First Articles
Lead, guide, and direct lean implementation and training initiatives, including 5S, TPM, Kaizen, Flow Manufacturing, JIT, Kanban, and Rapid Improvement Workshops
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university required. Strongly prefer a degree in either Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Statistics, Management, Chemistry, Physics, Math.
Zero to five plus years of related work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment using ISO9001 or AS9100 quality systems. NADCAP experience a plus.
CQE/CQA certification is a plus. Auditing experience highly preferred.
Experience with statistical techniques (SPC, SQC, DOE) and/or Six Sigma preferred. Root cause investigation experience preferred.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite. Minitab is a plus.
Strong leadership and communication skills and ability to work within a team environment.
Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
