The Department of Surgery at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals is recruiting a board certified/board eligible/board equivalent multi-organ transplant surgeon for a full-time faculty position in the Division of Transplantation/Jefferson Transplant Institute (JTI). The candidate should have completed training in general surgery and an ASTS-approved transplant fellowship. Candidates must have experience in liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, as well as multi-organ donor experience, including laparoscopic donor nephrectomy. Experience in living-donor liver transplantation, small bowel transplantation, pediatric transplantation is important but not absolutely necessary. The ideal candidate should also have interest in dialysis access and hepato-biliary surgery. Interest and experience in clinical research is preferred.
The candidate will be expected to collaborate with the JTI on initiatives to expand the scope of services provided by the JTI, including but not limited to services rendered at any of the partners or affiliate of the JTI and all the hospitals of the health system. The candidate will participate in developing policy, procedures, protocols, pathways to meet regulatory standards through prospective and retrospective systems analysis of all phases of transplantation and be actively involved in Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement programs. The successful candidate for this position may be considered for Thomas Jefferson University Hospital appointment as Instructor or Assistant Professor commensurate with experience and achievements.
