UNC HIRING OBSTETRIC HOSPITALIST
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill is seeking a full-time CNM or PA for a fixed-term faculty position as a Clinical Instructor. The successful candidate must be able to work comfortably and confidently as an Obstetric Hospitalist, providing full-range obstetrical health care in a fast-paced/high volume Labor and Delivery unit. He or she will also provide care to low-risk obstetrics and post-partum patients on other inpatient floors. Responsibilities will include in-hospital deliveries, Labor and Delivery triage, low-risk postpartum rounds, operating room assisting and procedural work, such as circumcisions. Additional responsibilities will include educating professional healthcare students and residents. Practice locations will be on the UNC Women’s Hospital’s Labor and Delivery and Postpartum units.
A Master’s degree and national certification as a Nurse Midwife or Physician’s Assistant are required. Ability to work in a high speed/high volume environment, and confidence in working with OB-GYN residents and Attending Obstetricians is necessary. Two to five years’ experience in full-scope midwifery or working as a Physician’s Assistant is preferred, though not required. New CNM or PA graduates will be considered. Experience in a tertiary medical center, in women’s OB-GYN health and with the electronic medical record, EPIC, are preferred. Fluency in Spanish is preferred, but not required. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
