Mount Nittany Health is looking to hire a Vice President for Quality/Patient Safety Officer. This position is responsible for coordinating the following activities: leadership, planning, management, reporting and effective implementation of all performance improvement activity within the Health System including departmental, team and Medical Staff performance improvement. In addition, the position provides leadership and effective implementation of the process of ongoing Health System compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies as they relate to quality patient care, including but not limited to, the Joint Commission, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Master’s degree in a healthcare discipline or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and appropriate work experience.
Course work and/or solid practical grounding in the application and use of biostatistics, including tests of significance, is strongly preferred.
Four years progressively responsible hospital administration experience.
Experience includes demonstrated effective experience in the leadership of significant group activities.
Demonstrated previous effective experience in performance improvement and/or education.
Clinical experience including familiarity with patient care processes and related processes.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Knowledge of systems theory, flowcharting technique, group dynamics and problem solving techniques is preferred.
Highly developed skill in interpersonal relations, oral and written communication, judgment, tact and diplomacy.
