Founding Chair of Pediatrics Associate or Full Professor Tenured
The University of California Riverside (UCR) School of Medicine seeks to hire a tenure-track faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor or Full Professor level for the position of Founding Chair of Pediatrics. We seek to hire a leader in the field of pediatrics who is devoted to the academic excellence in research, clinical care and teaching. Our goal is to recruit a physician scientist with an outstanding record, committed to excellence in research, that complements existing campus strengths in Child Health and Development. The successful candidate must possess a M.D. degree or both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees and current board certification in Pediatrics. The candidate must qualify for appointment to an Associate Professor or Full Professor tenured position as well as meet the eligibility requirements for a medical license in the State of California. The successful candidate should demonstrate notable scientific contributions, evidenced by high quality peer reviewed publications and a record of sustained extramural funding. The successful candidate must possess an excellent clinical record of expertise and a strong commitment to medical student and resident education. Finally, the candidate must demonstrate appropriate administrative experience and a proven record of academic, and administrative leadership qualities. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management, academic planning, financial and budget planning, resource allocation, program development, recruitment of faculty, and oversight of the department's clinical and research activities as well as both undergraduate and graduate medical education. This position will also provide leadership and direction in meeting the mission of the School of Medicine. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
