Position Summary: The University of Utah College of Nursing (CON) seeks a qualified Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) for an administrative faculty appointment as a Specialty Track Director. The Specialty Track Director is responsible and accountable for a combination of leadership, administrative, teaching, faculty practice, and/or service activities. Of these, the administrative component is a .20 FTE appointment. Reporting to the Chair of the Division of Acute and Chronic Care, the Specialty Track Director leads initiatives to attain educational goals and objectives, achieve quality outcomes, recruit and retain students, and ensure the vitality of the specialty track.
Principal Functions and Responsibilities: The Specialty Track Director is responsible and accountable to direct the PMHNP specialty track, recruit and advise students, help oversee clinical placements, lead daily operations; plan, implement, and evaluate PHM-specific curricula; mentor faculty, produce program reports, and adhere to Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education accreditation standards. The Specialty Track Director helps submit grants to obtain additional support for program development and innovation. In collaboration with other administrators in the college, the Specialty Track Director facilitates faculty development, participates in faculty evaluation and governance, leads and participates in administrative meetings, and serves as a resource and mentor to faculty and graduate students. The Specialty Track Director has an opportunity to provide PMHNP services within the College of Nursing Faculty Practice.

Criteria: A DNP or PhD degree from an accredited School of Nursing and national certification as a PMHNP is required. At least 2 years of direct practice as a PMHNP, and an unencumbered Utah license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse with prescriptive authority is required.
Administrative, leadership, teaching, and curriculum development experience are required. Must be familiar with higher education, scholarship, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Essentials of Doctoral Education for Advanced Nursing Practice. Demonstrated excellent communication, interpersonal, program management, and team-building skills are expected.
