The Center for Infection and Immunity at Columbia University (http://cii.columbia.edu/) is recruiting a biostatistician for the position of Associate Research Scientist to join a team of researchers, working on a large, prospective birth cohort study. The candidate will assist researchers in planning for statistical analyses, including review of study design and issues related to statistical power. S/he should have expertise in statistical methods appropriate for exploratory/discovery-based analyses, including applications of false discovery rate. The candidate will execute planned statistical analyses, with provision of results to researchers in the form of tables, graphs, and figures as well as text. S/he will participate in selected manuscripts with researchers, including writing statistical methods and providing editorial input. The candidate will attend weekly meetings to review progress, make necessary adjustments, and plan for additional analyses. S/he will also supervise a Data Manager in restructuring, merging and cleaning datasets and provide assurance to the research team that quality control criteria are satisfied prior to initiating statistical analyses. The candidate will perform related duties as assigned.
Doctorate or terminal professional. Requires a Doctoral degree in mathematics or related science.
Four years of related experience or Post-PhD.
