The Department of Molecular & Human Genetics at Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) has 2 immediate openings for genetic counselors to provide prenatal genetic counseling to individuals at the Texas Children’s Prenatal & Reproductive Genetic Clinics. Applicants must hold a master's degree from a Genetic Counseling Program accredited by the American Board of Genetic Counseling and be Board Certified/Board Eligible. Entry level and experienced candidates are encouraged to apply.
In either of these two positions you would join a dynamic team of prenatal genetic counselors and clinical geneticists who staff the Texas Children’s Fetal Center and Texas Children’s Prenatal and Reproductive Genetic Clinics. These clinics are a joint effort between the Departments of Molecular & Human Genetics and Obstetrics & Gynecology, integrating delivery of high quality, state-of-the-art prenatal diagnostic services and offering a full range of coordinated genetic services for the diagnosis, treatment, counseling, and prevention of birth defects. http://women.texaschildrens.org/genetics/
These positions provide significant opportunity for teaching and clinical supervision of medical students, graduate students, and genetic counseling students. Genetic counselors at BCM are also actively involved in research, community outreach, continuing education and regional and national professional societies.
