The SSON is located in Columbia, Mo., an ideal college town, combining small-town comforts, community spirit and low cost of living with big-city culture, activities and resources.
The SSON offers a comprehensive portfolio of degree programs including nationally-accredited BSN (traditional, accelerated and RN-to-BSN options) and MS(N) programs, a PhD program, a DNP program with five concentration areas, a graduate certificate in Participatory Health Research, and has an NINR-funded T32 pre-doctoral training grant and a Meta-Analysis Research Center. SSON faculty were awarded the largest grant in MU history in 2016.
The SSON is seeking an outstanding leader to direct the next stage of development. The dean also oversees program evaluation, develops and manages budgets, and works collaboratively to create efficient policies and processes for success.
Candidates should have a doctorate in nursing, academic achievements supporting an appointment with tenure at the rank of professor, including research publications and funded research; a record of teaching, curriculum development, and innovative and successful leadership; a strong commitment to diversity and shared governance; and evidence of leadership in the school's areas of expertise.
