We are looking to hire a Quality Assurance Intern to support our warehouse & distribution center for the summer of 2016. The intern will work out of the facility located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NYC. The selected intern will participate in food safety & quality assurance facility audits, develop food safety & quality assurance training programs, support in innovation and product development projects, and participate in other food safety & quality assurance projects as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Participate in facility food safety & quality assurance audits
Develop company-wide training programs and develop post-training assessments
Support FSQA team’s efforts providing data entry in the FSQA databases
Support FSQA team’s objectives through analyzing and reporting complaint trends
Support FSQA team’s development and implementation of company-wide programs
Self-motivated and self-started
Able to multitask and manage time efficiently
Detail oriented, organized, and have good communications skills
Prior experience with meeting deadlines
Fluency in the English language.
Fluency in the Spanish language preferred.
Must have excellent oral and written skills at a technical and general level.
Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels within both a manufacturing and corporate environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
General math skills
Must be able to read and analyze process charts, graphs, and logs.
Must possess an understanding of statistical analysis.
Must possess sharpened analytical, logical and problem solving skills.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
Must possess a valid Driver’s License
Preferably Serve Safe Certified
Preferably Certified by NYC Health Dept. for Food Handling
Preferably HACCP trained
Must be able to lift overhead up to 30 pounds.
Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
Must possess sufficient senses to perform effective organoleptic evaluations (corrected sensory ability is acceptable). This includes visual (acuity and color differentiation), olfactory, gustatory, tactile, and auditory ability.
Must be able to work in both warm and cold environments.
Must be able to work in a fast pace warehouse environment and be capable of withstanding: loud noises, fast moving machinery, etc.
