Shape the bright futures of Grand Canyon University students as a full time Faculty member for the traditional ground campus in the College of Nursing and Health Care Professions. The College, boasts a rich 30-year history providing outstanding health care and nursing degree programs. Students can earn their RN to BSN, or a master’s in nursing degree specializing in advanced patient care or in the emerging fields of health care administration, management, or public health.
As a full-time Faculty member, you’ll provide program instruction incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, cutting-edge technologies and other industry trends reflecting advancements in your discipline. This is a full-time, 12-month position, based in Phoenix, AZ. Please note this is not a remote position. This position will have 50% responsibility to the Master of Science in Nursing, Public Health Emphasis (MSN-PH) program and 50% responsibility to the Master of Public Health (MPH) program. Target start date is immediate.
Teach a variety of public health courses in the MSN-PH and MPH program.
Provide mentorship to MSN-PH and MPH students.
Develop and maintain relationships with the public health professional community to support practicum experiences, project collaborations, and mentoring.
Stay current on topics and practices related to the discipline.
Participate in curriculum design & development.
Active participation on college and/or university committees.
Provide leadership to adjunct faculty.
Active engagement in professional development activities.
Willingness to assume other duties as assigned.
Student classroom load will be assigned based upon teaching qualifications and demonstrated classroom facilitation.
Master of Science in Nursing degree required.
Three or more years of applied public health experience.
Unencumbered, current Registered Nurse licensure in Arizona or a compact state.
Ability to teach a variety of core courses in nursing and public health.
Strong interest in teaching online courses.
Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and highly effective presentation skills
Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement and Mission of Grand Canyon University.
Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree, or a doctorate in a health related discipline with an MSN degree. Doctoral candidates will be considered, provided doctorate will be conferred within one year of date of hire.
Advanced Public Health Nurse board certification (APHN-BC) or Public Health Nurse (PHN) certification.
Ability to teach a variety of courses in public health and nursing.
Applied public health experience desirable.
Strong interest in teaching online courses.
Experience working with undergraduate and/or graduate students in advising, mentoring, and career development.
Commitment to scholarly development through research, practice and/or teaching.
Commitment to participate in academic program development and leadership opportunities.
Excellent written and verbal communication, project management, and highly effective presentation skills.
