Altria Client Services' (ALCS) role is to help Altria Group and its operating companies responsibly meet their business goals by providing the high quality services they require in a financially disciplined way. We are currently seeking a Scientist/Assistant Quality Analyst to join our Analytical Sciences Department in Richmond, VA.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the ISO 17025 Quality System and working in an analytical laboratory environment.
Specific responsibilities include:
* Maintaining and help implementing appropriate documentation and processes for Analytical Sciences' ISO 17025 Accreditation. * Preparing and analyzing samples using a variety of chromatographic instrumentation including HPLC, GC, LC-MS, and GC-MS. * Aiding the Quality Coordinator with quality planning initiatives and management review updates. * Initiating and leading root cause analysis investigations and implementing corrective and preventive actions. * Performing internal laboratory audits for compliance to ISO 17025. * Reviewing and analyzing laboratory data. * Assisting with the design of experiments for interlaboratory studies, as necessary. * Reviewing and approving laboratory method validation. * Providing Quality Manual training.
Qualifications include: * A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology or closely related field with a minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in quality systems operations, in an analytical laboratory environment. * Experience working in an ISO 17025 Accredited laboratory or other regulated laboratory environment is preferred. * Demonstrated experience with Corrective and Preventive Action required. * Demonstrated experience with internal auditing strongly preferred. * Experience working in an analytical laboratory preparing samples and conducting instrumental analyses (HPLC, GC, LC-MS, and GC-MS etc.) is preferred. * Ability to work independently, to multi-task, and to be a strong team player. * Detailed-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills. * Strong written, verbal and presentation skills along with demonstrated ability to collaborate with others.
