Serve as a liaison, attend meetings, represent the Institute, and promote the policies and positions of the Institute at NCMA, MCAA, USGBC, ACI, ASTM and such other national organizations as the Board of Directors shall determine. Where appropriate, he or she shall serve as a committee member and/or Chair.
Represent the Institute by making presentations to such national and regional groups and organizations, as he or she and the Board shall determine.
Technical and Marketing Activities
The Director shall be an ex-officio member of all ESCSI committees. He or she shall provide technical assistance to the committees and shall participate in such educational and research projects as the Board of Directors shall determine.
Train potential clients and users on ESCS material applications and technical specifications.
Assist the Board and the Management Company selected by the Board in the management of the Institute including, but not limited to financial and budgeting, planning, and development of marketing programs and materials (including brochures and web site development).
Actively participate in the annual and midyear meetings of the Institute and such other special meetings as determined by the Board of Directors.
Annually present to the Board of Directors a review of the State of the Industry and the State of the Institute, including recommendations for changes in the Strategic Plan.
Coordinate and report on various research and development projects funded by the Institute.
The Director shall work to support the Strategic Plan that has been developed and approved by the Board.
Other duties as assigned by the Board.
Travel will be required throughout the U.S. and Canada to accomplish ESCSI goals (between 25-50%).
May need to be available during non-business hours to accommodate differing time zones.
The person hired will operate as an independent contractor with a negotiated agreement with ESCSI. Relocation is not required.
Requirements / Knowledge Skills:
Bachelor’s degree preferably in the area of Engineering, Business, Marketing or Construction Management. Prior experience in one or more identified markets is required. A P.E. or other professional license is preferred.
Minimum of 10 years Technical/Sales/Management experience, demonstrating high levels of achievement.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to effectively promote technical aspects of ESCSI materials.
Lightweight Aggregate/Concrete Materials background preferred or the ability to develop expertise in the areas of Lightweight Structural Concrete, Masonry & Precast, Concrete Pavement, Asphalt Chip Seals, Geotechnical Fill, Filtration, Horticulture applications, and other emerging markets as they are identified and developed.
Excellent time management and organizational skills to function independently and prioritize tasks.
Must present a professional appearance at trade shows, conferences, and meetings as a representative of ESCSI.

ESCSI promotes the extensive use of rotary kiln-produced lightweight aggregate in the lightweight concrete masonry and structural lightweight concrete markets, as well as use in asphalt, geotechnical, horticultural and other ap...plications. Based on research and development, educational material is disseminated to all phases of the building industry.
