Quest Diagnostics (NYSE: DGX) is seeking a Medical Science Liaison responsible for supporting clinical franchise/disease and diagnostic insight related medical needs.
This is a virtual role that will require significant and frequent travel.
The MSL will establish frequent and timely interactions with Thought Leaders (TL), payers and other Health Care Providers (HCP) to discuss safe and appropriate use of approved diagnostic insights and pharmaco-economic data.
MSLs also respond to unsolicited questions on current medical and scientific issues, healthcare advances, treatment trends, and health outcomes measures.
Specific Job Accountabilities:
Must demonstrate in?depth knowledge of the PDM/Toxicology therapeutic area.
Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of PDM/Tox diagnostics and therapeutic area.
Ability to translate medical/scientific information and data into high quality medical dialogue.
Possess understanding of the pharmaceutical, diagnostic and healthcare industry including commercial, and government payer strategies, and the evolving healthcare delivery models.
Deliver presentations to health care decision-makers responding to unsolicited questions using relevant and approved materials as per company guidelines and SOPs.
Support company-initiated trials by interacting with primary investigators, assisting in site identification and screenings, and delivering disease education using approved resources. MSLs may also support data generation activities including participating in reviews of Investigator-initiated proposals.
Identify and train contracted speakers or internal team members to support alignment with medical communication strategies and life cycle management plan.
Identify, collect and communicate insights to address competitive medical information in addition to insights on trends and changes affecting the regulatory and payer environment used to develop medical strategies for PDM/Tox CF.
Contribute to the development of Medical Brand Plans and Strategies by communicating his or her medical insight and knowledge derived from Expert Physicians, other Healthcare providers or scientific publications about the test offerings and/or clinical franchise area, in particular with reference to patients’ needs and diagnostics/treatment trends.
Identify potential investigators for Quest Diagnostics initiated studies utilizing approved resources. Provides support to the Study Manager, as requested and approved by the appropriate medical affairs and R&D research oversight committees, for site support activities relating to the conduct of a Quest Diagnostics initiated studies (e.g. recruitment support).
Facilitates the submission process of investigators’ proposals for company sponsored studies if support is requested, in accordance with Company Policies, and applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards.
Fully understands and complies with Quest Diagnostics medical and corporate SOP’s.
Adheres to the US “Compliance Code of Conduct”.
Certifies against all required compliance training.
Conveys a clear message on laws, regulations, and ethical standards to both internal and external customers.
Develops an understanding of and complies with all GMA SOPs, the OIG Guidance, the CLIA requirements, ICH, GCP, and relevant FDA laws and regulations (certify completion where required). Alerts management to possible compliance issues.
To qualify, the ideal candidate will have:
PharmD or PhD preferred.
Toxicologist License/Certification is required.
Minimum of 4 years working in a clinical, diagnostics or pharmaceutical environment (excludes post doc education).
Understanding of scientific and clinical research principles.
Understanding of the US Healthcare system, the diagnostics/pharmaceutical industry and clinical and health economic practices in the US.
Ability to work independently - experience working across a matrix organization and commercial teams.
