Job Description: Armstrong International is seeking an Institutional Regional Manager for the New York/New Jersey region. This individual will facilitate institutional sales and engineered specifications in the region by working with the independent Armstrong sales representatives and distributors in the territory along with Armstrong factory personnel. Responsibilities include “institutional new construction” by supporting and maintaining current key end-user accounts and developing new end-user sales for institutional customers.
Key Responsibilities and Duties include, but are not limited to: • Drive specifications at the Consulting Engineer level • Assist in the design of the domestic steam & hot water systems • Provide load sizing and product selections • Identify, develop and maintain new end user accounts in which the representative does not have a current relationship • Police, defend, secure projects from specification to purchase order • Determine commission splits, project influences • Develop mind share with representative’s sales people • Provide Market Intelligence • Competitor Profiles • Understand Project Pricing • Manage Construct Connect Project Tracking Database • Support the representative agency as “the factory” • Provide pricing guidance • Provide Quotes • Maintain Armstrong CRM • Prepare Submittals • Coordinate Start Ups • Coordinate Service & System troubleshoot • Maintain ASPE presence • Present at Lunch & Learns • Consulting Engineers • Key End Users • Reporting activity to Management • Manage quarterly execution of Account update as defined by Manager • Manage quarterly execution of regional sales tracker as defined by Director, Corporate Accounts Worldwide • Identify, recommend and/or create programs, sales tools and products that can enhance and support successful sales activities in the target markets
Job Qualifications and Education Preferred: • Critical that candidate has an existing profile in the Plumbing Engineering community • 3 years minimum of successful sales experience, with background in institutional sales channel • Strong Technical Knowledge of Institutional Systems and System Applications • Ability to read and drive system specifications • Willingness to help start up and service equipment (This will take up no more than 15% of your time) • Objective is to take care of key customers personally • Excellent written and oral communication skill with all levels of management and with outside contacts
