Michigan Medicine University of Michigan Health System Department of Pathology Director of the Drug Analysis and Toxicology Section of the Chemical Pathology Laboratory The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine (University of Michigan Health System) is seeking an individual to serve as the Director of the Drug Analysis and Toxicology section of the Chemical Pathology Laboratory. The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. and fellowship training or experience in toxicology and clinical chemistry. A background of LC-MSMS assay development and oversight is preferred, as priorities for the position include direction of an existing complex menu of LC-MSMS tests and expansion of the test menu in the areas of pain management compliance testing, vitamins, and endocrinology. The successful candidate will also serve as an Associate Director of the Chemical Pathology Section Laboratories and share responsibility for technical operation of the hospital-based laboratories, provide leadership toward continued technical innovation, serve as a consultant for clinical services and reference lab clients, and participate in teaching pathology residents, fellows, and pharmacy graduate students. S/he will work closely with the Chemical Pathology Laboratory Director and Director of the Clinical Pathology Division to help expand laboratory services to meet the needs of broad Michigan Medicine initiatives. The position will include up to 25% protected time for scholarly endeavors.
