The Community Health Division in the School of Health Sciences at Central Michigan University invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track faculty position, at the rank of Assistant Professor, in the Master of Public Health Program. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Attractive benefits package and research support are available.
Faculty members are expected to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching, participate in graduate and undergraduate research, student advising, and university service as outlined by the CMU Faculty Agreement and departmental bylaws.
Teaching. Teach 9 credit hours per semester in a face-to-face and/or online format in such areas as healthcare economics, finance and marketing, health policy, quality improvement in healthcare organizations, healthcare strategic management, and health informatics as well as other related courses as directed by the MPH Program Director.
Research. Conduct research and scholarly endeavors that lead to securing extramural funding to support an ongoing research agenda; direct undergraduate and graduate research.
Advising and Service. Advise graduate students; involvement in campus and community service and facilitating relationships with colleagues within the university and stakeholders at the local, state, national and international levels.
Assisting with review of applied practical experience portfolio and contributing to the MPH program accreditation process.
Earned Doctorate (PhD, DrPH, DHA, EdD, ScD) in public health, health administration, health and environmental policies, health economics, health finance etc.
Demonstrated successful college teaching
Demonstrated ability to develop and teach courses in healthcare management
Experience or demonstrated interest in securing extramural grants and contracts
Demonstrated ability to work within a collaborative faculty environment
Demonstrated research agenda based on published works and/or external funding
Established record of peer-reviewed publication
Commitment to advancing diversity and inclusion
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations
