As QA/QC Officer at the UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory, you will review and maintain laboratory processes for the generation of accurate and timely results for all clients. You will handle the development of standard operating procedures, including Quality Manual of the laboratory. The role involves interacting with staff members throughout the laboratory to ensure sufficient training, adequacy of the Quality Management System and acceptable performance and documentation of all testing procedures in compliance with applicable WADA Standards and technical documents as well as ISO 17025 Accreditation through A2LA (American Association for Laboratory Accreditation). You will:
Gather and evaluate QC data regarding performance of screen and confirmation procedures Evaluate non-conforming results and conduct root-cause analyses Recommend and track corrective actions Ensure fitness for stated purpose of methodologies prior to implementation Maintain internal quality assurance program Ensure adequate qualitative performance of all Initial Testing Procedures Monitor performance of all quantitative confirmatory procedures Monitor and ensure laboratory's compliance with WADA and ISO 17025 requirements Prepare and submit documentation to WADA and A2LA
QualificationsTo qualify for this key role, you must have:
Ability to initiate work independently and critically review the work of others Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with scientists, staff, and clients Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a group setting Working knowledge of analytical chemistry, including analysis and data interpretation for GC-MSn, LC-MSn, and immunoassay based techniques Working knowledge of ISO 17025 standards Background with general principles of QA/QC and Good Laboratory Practice Proficiency in statistical methods of data evaluation Expertise with Microsoft Office Ability to summarize and present scientific data
