Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) is currently accepting applications for the position of Program Director-Surgical Technology. This position reports to the Dean-Health Professions and is responsible for providing leadership and direction for the Surgical Technology Program (SGT) and maintaining compliance with national accreditation standards.
Essential responsibilities of this position include:
Work with the Dean to provide day-to-day direction for program faculty and staff.
Oversee all methods of instruction delivery within the program.
Manage risks associated with clinical and practical education of students.
Manage student transition into program and retention.
Conduct student conferences, as appropriate.
Plan, organize, supervise and manage all aspects of SGT program operation.
Perform autonomous decision-making on all issues related to program operations including statutory requirements.
Keep program in compliance with stated goals and objectives.
Develop and promote program mission and programs.
Maintain currency in SGT practice through research, presentations and professional conference participation.
Network on a professional level with local, state and national leaders in SGT.
Minimum requirements for this position include:
Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology
Credentialed as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified First Assist (CFA)
Licensed to practice in the state of Illinois.
Minimum of five years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both within the past ten years
Proficiency in instructional methodology, curriculum design, and program planning
