Seeking Clinical Research Line Manager, with experience leading a Clinical Trial Associate team. The position will be located at the ProTrials Headquarters in San Jose, Ca. The Clinical Research Line Manager will have the responsibility of management and development of Clinical Research staff. This position may also have additional oversight of sub-contractor administration, training, and resourcing. The Clinical Research Line Manager will be responsible, but not limited to the following duties listed below.
Management of Clinical Research Staff
•Create an environment where Clinical Research staff can successfully achieve established standards of services to clients according to SOPs and contract stipulations.
•Coordinate with Project Managers and Client Managers in the identification and resourcing of staff that meet business needs in a cost effective manner.
•Participate in recruitment of staff; review CVs, conduct telephone and face-to-face interviews.
•Monitor performance of direct reports on a continuous basis, and perform periodic evaluations according to ProTrials Research, Inc. policies and procedures and stated expectations. This may include solicitation of feedback from clients, client managers, sites, and others; conducting performance discussions, and setting future goals. Identification of and communication to direct reports regarding performance issues, including advising of issue(s), and assessing additional training as needed.
•Conduct Monitoring Performance Assessments and training as needed.
•Interface with Human Resources regarding compensation, salary adjustments, promotions, disciplinary actions and other related tasks concerning employee evaluations, performance and sub-contractor performance. Work with Human Resources for development of performance plan, as required. If applicable, recommendation to Human Resources for termination.
•Forward documents to HR per stated expectations.
•Coordinate the training of staff in the areas of ProTrials time and expense systems, travel policies and guidelines, overall management structure of ProTrials, and professional conduct expectations regarding communication and deliverable expectations.
•May negotiate sub-contractor terms and conditions that meet ProTrials Research, Inc. standards and practices.
Communication and Tracking
•Participate in regular meetings regarding project staffing requirements, and other business activities.
•Maintain shared staff assignment and other spreadsheets.
•Communicate staff assignment changes and salary updates to HR personnel.
•Collaborate with Project/ Client Managers in establishing project-specific expectations for direct reports allocated to the projects, and assure they are understood by direct reports.
•Communicate direct report performance issues to Sr. Director of Line Management or Associate Director(s) of Line Management.
•Review time and expenses of direct reports to ensure utilization of time and management of client’s resources are consistent with expectations.
•Communicate regularly with Project Managers and Client Managers regarding performance of direct reports.

•Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Project, and PowerPoint and other programs utilized at ProTrials.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in life sciences or related field and 4 or more years' CRA experience including previous staff management experience or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
The Clinical Research Line Manager reports to the Sr. Director of Line Management or Associated Director(s) of Line Management, members of the ProTrials Core Management Team.
OTHER ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
The Clinical Research Line Manager will interface and partner with other Senior Management team members in development of strategy, including being a resource to other departments to improve processes within ProTrials Research, Inc. May also liaise or manage vendors and contractors.
