In this role, you will drive new product development and commercialization of products in unique markets that we service. Gore is looking for talented hands-on individuals who have demonstrated the ability to apply engineering fundamentals to technical challenges and successfully navigate ambiguity to solve problems and deliver results. Gore has multiple opportunities for experienced new product development engineers in businesses across the Medical Products Division, Fabrics Division, Performance Solutions Division, and Core Technology.
As an experienced New Product Development Engineer, activities may include the planning and execution of technical work and experiments to support product design, test method development, application support, and/or equipment design; prototype installation and operation, recording and analyzing data. A New Product Development Engineer will also work with customers to meet end user needs with design solutions and product innovations. Additionally, you may be involved in identifying potential markets and develop products while continuously improving existing ones.

Hands-on experience with prototype generation, material evaluation, and experimental design and execution
Drive the development and refinement of new test methods and characterization techniques in partnership with other functions
Identifying critical uncertainties, designing targeted experiments, rapidly building new prototypes, defining and assessing fitness-for-use, and driving commercialization and scale up
Collaborating with up-stream processes, existing businesses and our emerging product platforms to identify and assess the feasibility of new market opportunities and new technologies
Interacting directly with end users to develop product concepts based on true market needs
Understand and evaluate performance of relevant competitive product alternatives
At least 3 years of experience in process, product, or new product / materials development post-graduation
Solid knowledge of engineering fundamentals and ability to apply this knowledge to product development and challenging technical problems
Knowledge of experimental design and ability to apply statistics to drive data based decision making
Proven ability to prioritize, plan, and drive multiple projects concurrently from development to completion
Demonstrated ability to:
Evaluate complex technical needs and develop timely, practical solutions
Adapt and respond to rapidly changing information and rapidly evolving technical needs
Proven history of documentation, communication, and presentation of technical bodies of work
Effectively interact and influence cross-functional teams, as well as work independently
Incorporate creativity in technical problem solving and critical thinking
Ability to be hands-on in all aspects of project work which could include developing prototypes and/or test methods
Leverage critical thinking to navigate technical and project uncertainties
Willingness to sign IP and Confidentiality agreements
Travel periodically (<10%)
5 years' experience in product development
Demonstrated success championing complex new product development projects
Experience developing new processes to support product development
Providing support, mentoring and leadership to a functional team
Experience in ePTFE membrane development
Experience working within a quality system
