Director of Quality & Patient Safety is a professional member of the corrections health team who assumes 24 hours and seven days a week responsibility and accountability of assigned areas. Facilitates implementation and monitors quality improvement and patient safety activities throughout the organization; acts as a role model/resource to all levels of staff in defining/educating/ implementing and evaluating standards of care and practice using clinical expertise, clinical processes, and current concepts/principles of education/quality improvement/clinical practice and health care trends. The Director of Quality will promote continuous readiness by assisting healthcare and medical staff on improvement performance on national, state, and locally reported measures, as well as compliance with quality national programs (NCCHC, ACA, FMJS).
Graduate of an accredited baccalaureate school of nursing or baccalaureate degree in healthcare field. A license as a professional Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or eligibility or other type of healthcare practitioner license. Three to Five years’ experience in clinical specialty/related area including minimum of two (2) years management experience, two (2) years of management of a correctional health quality program. Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power point. Master’s Degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration or healthcare related field preferred. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification with at least 6 months validity required. CCHP certification required at time of hire or within one year of employment.
DESIRED: Five years’ experience in clinical quality and performance improvement. Managerial experience at the Director level.
