Quality and Informatics Consultant
The Quality and Informatics Consultant (QIC) reports to the Chief Quality Officer and works in collaboration with a broad group of stakeholders to extend and strengthen the incorporation of clinical best practices and use of information technology to improve operations, enhance safety, and reduce costs. The QIC acts as a change agent by identifying opportunities, facilitating improvement efforts, enhancing the information sharing platform, and empowering others in the adoption of new processes and technologies. The QIC is comfortable in moving the organization out of its comfort zone to achieve excellence and is an evangelist for the safety and quality improvement culture.

Comprehensive understanding of performance improvement strategies for health care.
Familiarity with data management including interpreting, comprehending, and summarizing statistical and medical data.
Information Technology/Information Systems computer skills to manage optimization efforts, spreadsheets, presentations and database software.
Proficience in presenting, communicating, and interacting effectively with hospital staff, management, physicians and outside agencies.
Ability to independently manage multiple projects with general supervision.
Organization skills to prioritize work and meet frequent deadlines.
Preferred: MEDITECH and particularly Client/Server experience highly desired.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree in healthcare field required - Clinical degree highly preferred Two years hospital based experience One year of clinical application experience Quality Improvement experience.
Formal QI training; ASQ, AHRQ, NPSF IHI or similar certification highly preferred
Work is divided between reviewing open electronic and paper record, on and off the patient unit. Computer data entry, report writing, attendance at meetings and data analysis.
