Position Description: Postdoctoral Fellowship in molecular imaging of cardiovascular diseases at the Departments of Radiology and Medicine, University of Pittsburgh.
Research Interest: Development of novel molecular and metabolic imaging strategies for early detection and risk stratification of cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases using high-resolution SPECT, PET and MRI. Projects are primarily focused on targeted imaging of macrophage biology in the pre-clinical and translational stages and will be performed in close collaboration with clinicians and scientists in the departments of Medicine (cardiology and Vascular Medicine Institute) and Radiology at the University of Pittsburgh.

The qualified candidate has a PhD and/or MD with experience in cellular and molecular biology, imaging sciences, or other related fields with a track record of scientific accomplishments, including first-author peer-reviewed publications. Self-motivation, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment are required. Experience in small animal imaging, radiochemistry, vascular biology, immunology, or small animal surgery is preferred.
