The Department of Neurosciences at the University of Toledo, College of Medicine and Life Sciences (UTCOMLS) is undergoing an exciting phase of growth and faculty expansion, and significant resources have been committed to expand basic and translational research. We now invite applicants for several full-time Assistant or Associate Professor tenure-track faculty positions. We seek outstanding colleagues who work at the molecular, protein, cellular, and/or systems levels to address fundamental and translational questions relevant to the nervous system. Current areas of research include autonomic neural circuit mapping, auditory physiology, synaptic and non-synaptic signaling, MRI analysis of human brain plasticity, and mechanisms of schizophrenia, Alzheimer’s disease and PTSD. In addition, UTCOMLS offers a collaborative academic environment with considerable core facilities, including cellular and brain MR imaging. The position provides competitive salary, start-up funds, and research space. Joint appointments are available in relevant clinical departments for candidates performing translational research.
The successful applicant must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree, significant postdoctoral training and a record of high quality scholarly activity. Applicants at the Assistant Professor level with extramural support will be given preference. Applicants at the Associate professor rank are expected to have a nationally recognized research program and significant extramural support. The successful candidate is expected to have and maintain an extramurally funded research program and contribute to medical and graduate student training in neurosciences.
