The Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center, the clinical partner of the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester, MA, is seeking a BE/BC fellowship trained Critical Care Anesthesiologist. The position offers the opportunity to participate in patient care, to train the next generation of providers and to continue scholarly work.
UMass Memorial Medical Center is a 779 bed tertiary care facility and a Level 1 Trauma Center for adults and Children, covering over one million lives. The range of surgical cases includes cardiac and vascular, thoracic, neurosurgery, pediatric, orthopedic, surgical oncology, laparoscopic, liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation, and major trauma. Across the Healthcare System, our Anesthesia Team is providing care to over 40,000 patients annually.
Members of our ICU team provide the full spectrum of surgical critical care in three ICUs across two campuses, in addition to participation in our extensive telemedicine network (eICU). The eICU is linking all critical care beds from 7 Medical and Surgical ICUs across the Medical Center, in addition to several community hospital beds, to a control center staffed 24/7 by an Intensivist lead critical care team. We have a closed ICU model governed by a Critical Care Operations Committee, and enjoy top rankings by the VISICU eICU Quality Consortium on a yearly basis for significantly reducing patient mortality and improving outcomes.
