Depending on the final candidate's preference, this position can be in either Corvallis or Salem.
Consultant project managers (CPM) are responsible for:
Directing all activities necessary in the development of outsourced transportation projects.
Administering contracts for design and/or construction of highly complex highways.
Managing consultant engineering teams - ensuring design packages are delivered on schedule and within budget.
Identifying and managing project risk and ensuring project standards are met.
Using change management processes to obtain commitments, resolutions, and agreements on critical project issues.
CPMs function as organizational experts in project scoping, consultant selection, management of construction, contract interpretation, and claims management.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide oversight of ODOT retained consultants who provide design, inspection, and contract administration. This may include:
Managing the design and/or construction of projects within scope, schedule and budget.
Ensuring compliance with design standards and standards specifications.
Providing field-engineering decisions required to construct the project.
Resolving contract disputes pertaining to scope, schedule, and budget.

Experience managing multiple transportation projects from preliminary design through construction.

Minimum Qualifications: A valid professional engineer's (PE) license in civil, structural, or transportation-related engineering and three (3) years of journey level professional engineer experience.
Note: If registered in another state, successful applicants will be required to obtain professional registration in the state of Oregon within six months of hire.
Special Qualifications: Driving is an essential function of this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks on our final candidate(s).
