Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a FGP Senior Analyst.
The primary function of the Senior Business Analytics Analyst is to provide high-level analytical support to Faculty Group Practice (FGP) leadership to assist in achieving the organizations financial and operational goals. The Senior Analyst will work with the Analytics Team to measure FGP performance, identify areas of improvement, and project manage new initiatives. This includes collaborating with Business Intelligence (IT), Revenue Cycle Systems (Epic), Corporate Management, and operational teams to maintain, develop, enhance, and implement reporting tools, metrics, and reports. The Senior Analyst will provide analytical support across FGP operations: Revenue Cycle, Front-End Operations, capacity and access initiatives, productivity monitoring, and clinical quality initiatives.
Business Intelligence & Data Management: Work with appropriate NYU Langone Health and IT divisions, including but not limited to EPIC and EPIC add-on systems, to explore new reports, metrics, and methodologies to support FGP activity. Ensure all reports and dashboards are updated, disseminated, and operate properly and correctly. Disseminate information regarding contents and functionality of the data warehouse and BO reporting system and associated tools to extract, analyze, and report data. Act as team lead in the creation of additional reporting/dashboard systems (such as Tableau), as determined and needed by management.
Business Intelligence & Data Management: Act as primary liaison between FGP and MCIT Reporting and Dashboard teams. Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of reports, databases, and dashboards; ensure data are accurate and appropriate. Assist MCIT Reporting Team to maintain and enhance the Revenue Cycle data warehouse (Business Objects), including researching and adding new fields and universes to data warehouse to support all FGP needs.
Reporting & Analysis: Act as lead analyst for data management of the Vizient project. Assist in analyzing regular reports from Vizient to improve practice operations and patient access.
Reporting & Analysis: Collaborate with various teams including Revenue Integrity, Credentialing, and Managed Care to identify issues and trends related to revenue cycle and operational opportunities. Utilize data analysis to make informed decisions to drive an increase in revenue, improve performance, and enhance metrics. Oversee and manage regular reconciliation projects for Revenue Integrity, Syngo, FHC, and other units. Collaborate with other analysts to prepare monthly data uploads for both internal and external sites and dashboards.
Reporting & Analysis: Collaborate with Management to explore and build new models and metrics. Collaborate with Management and practices to evaluate and analyze existing practices financials and operational metrics. Identify trends and develop work plans with Management to address potential operational issues. Assist managed care compliance team to analyze payer reimbursement levels to determine if payments are made at appropriate rates.
Reporting & Analysis: Act as primary liaison for Analytics Team reporting requests. Distribute requests to appropriate analyst and manage the final fulfillment of the request. Manage follow-up questions. Prepare and analyze revenue cycle and operational reports to summarize FGP performance. Pull data and build reports from multiple sources including the primary BI system, Business Objects. Evaluate data and reports to identify opportunities for FGP revenue and operational enhancement. Once opportunities are identified, lead projects through improvement, and measure results.
Staff Development & Training: Assist in the oversight of Analytics Team analysts to help accomplish teams goals and requirements. Share Revenue Cycle modeling and analysis skills and methodologies with other analysts and FGP staff. Teach and orient all appropriate FGP analysts and staff about reporting tools and standard operating procedures. Develop appropriate aids and forums to assist with the dissemination of reporting systems and tools.
MISCELLANEOUS: Assist in troubleshooting institutional issues as they relate to the FGP. Keep up on Legislative and Industry changes that may effect the manner in which we conduct business.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree (preferably in finance, accounting, economics or other business or healthcare related major) with 2-3 years of experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, or similar programs. Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines.
