The Research and Modeling group within AIR Boston is responsible for constructing peril specific catastrophe loss models that AIR’s software group incorporates into software that is used by clients. The department consists of many scientific and engineering disciplines. Model design varies widely between perils and each model requires the input from many of these disparate disciplines. The R&M group at AIR is looking for an internal auditor with knowledge of process control and quality assurance best practices to work closely with each model development group.

Graduate or Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Computer Information Systems from a reputable academic institution with excellent credentials
Certified Quality Auditor or similar certification strongly recommended
5 – 10 years of full-time, quality auditing experience in a scientific, statistical or financial field
Experience with developing and advancing a research-based, software development process for a mid-size company
Master of proficiency in process improvement tools and techniques (Lean Six Sigma, charts, diagrams, checklists, etc.)
Proven track record of audit plan development and execution
Team player with strong interpersonal, communication and project management skills
Ability to interface with all levels of the organization
Ability to operate in a diverse culture
Willingness to develop, maintain and improve competencies through continued professional development
Possesses strong analytical and problem solving abilities
Knowledge of coding languages (C++, SQL, etc.) preferred
Responsible for the development and coordination of internal auditing activities
Develop and implement internal auditing policies and procedures
Establishes a reporting relationship that ensures objective and impartial audits
Establishes controls (procedures, plans, criteria and objectives) for an effective audit program
Creates, distributes and maintains audit program schedules
Reports audit program progress to management
Determines audit program objectives and creates plans to accomplish the objectives
Responsible for new-hire/continuous training on internal best practices/audit procedures for Research stafff
Keeps and safeguards audit program information
Promotes ethical behavior
