A Research Associate 3 (RA3) position is available in the lab of Dr. Nicholas Gilpin at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans. Research projects in the Gilpin lab use a collaborative and integrative approach to examine the neurobiology underlying addiction, pain, traumatic brain injury, and stress disorders. The successful candidate will have experience with some or all of the following: small animal handling, behavioral testing, intracranial surgery, optogenetic and chemogenetic techniques, biochemical and molecular biology assays, microscopy, and general laboratory assays. This position requires a high level of organization, reliability, flexible hours, intrinsic motivation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Past experience in project or personnel management is an advantage. Individuals holding a B.S. or M.S. or Ph.D. in neuroscience or a similar field are eligible.
