The Department of Health Management Systems (HMS) is seeking a full-time, tenure-track faculty member for a 9-month assistant professor position beginning in July 2019. The Department of Health Management Systems (HMS) currently offers two degree programs: (1) Bachelor of Science in Health Management Systems and (2) Master of Health Management Systems and one Public Health minor program. The HMS Department also looks forward to expanding its outreach globally.
Work collaboratively with the HMS Department Chair and faculty members
Maintain active scholarship and pursue externally-funded research in areas of interest
Teach online, blended, and face-to-face undergraduate and graduate courses
Advise and mentor students
Mentor high quality student research
Contribute through university, school, departmental, and professional service activities

Earned doctoral degree in healthcare administration, health information management, health informatics, business administration, public health, or related area
Evidence of teaching excellence and scholarly publications and funded research
Knowledge and experience in teaching both traditional and on-line undergraduate and graduate-level healthcare management courses in at least three of the following content areas:
Financial accounting in healthcare
Healthcare financial management
Teaching, scholarship, and funded research in any of the following areas: public health, health promotion, global health, disparities in health care, needs assessment and program planning and evaluation.
