We are currently seeking resumes from qualified Engineer-in-Training- Traffic Designers for our Phoenix, Arizona office. The essential functions and responsibilities will be to assist senior design personnel in developing and completing traffic designs and contract documents. Ideal candidate will be responsible for designing municipal and state projects for streets/highways/freeways involving roadway, drainage, utilities, and traffic engineering. The role will require the ability to function as a project engineer and understand all aspects of design and plan production as well as preparation and checking of design calculations, quantities, cost estimates and project plans.
Self-motivated, technically proficient, possesses strong written and verbal communication skills, and is team-oriented. Travel periodically within Arizona and neighboring states and be physically capable of performing field work.
Specific duties will include:
Ensuring the completion of work based on project schedules.
Preparation and checking of design calculations, quantities, cost estimates, specifications and project plans. Guidelines may be available, but require adaptation or interpretation to determine appropriate courses of action.
Field assessment and inspection of structures and facilities.
Traffic design, coordination, CAD drafting and miscellaneous other engineering tasks.
Duties may also include marketing support on graphics or text related to upcoming projects.
Engineering-In-Training - Required Skills:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering
Holds an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate or able to obtain in 6 months of hire
Entry Level to Two (2) plus years of civil experience or related field
Experience using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
Strong verbal and written communication skills a must.
Must have solid skills in the following areas: planning and scheduling; organization; problem solving; and decision
Project Wise experience is a plus
InRoads and Civil 3D experience a plus.
