Opportunities include: 1) studying contraceptive decision making and risk communication, 2) evaluating major community and policy initiatives designed to improve access to sexual and reproductive health care and population health, 3) analyzing and implementing patient reported outcomes into clinical processes, 4) implementation science, 5) policy and economic analysis of issues surrounding family planning, 6) communicating science and health to broad audiences, and 7) quality of life measurement and analytics.

WORK SCHEDULE: Full-time
RESPONSIBILITES: This postdoctoral research fellowship will provide mentored research experience and prepare fellows for independent academic research careers. Fellows are expected to collaborate on established projects and are encouraged to conduct independent research with an emphasis on grant application, study inception, manuscript writing, and research dissemination. Departmental resources and collaborative support will enable fellows to build their own research programs. For interested candidates, there are opportunities to gain additional training in research methods, statistical analysis, and leadership skills. Salary is competitive with excellent fringe benefits.
Mentoring is a critical focus of our work, and we employ a matrix mentoring approach. The postdoctoral research fellow will have a primary mentor in the Division of Family Planning. Faculty includes Drs. David Turok, Lori Gawron, Jessica Sanders, Kyl Myers, and Rebecca Simmons. The mentoring team has an exceptional track record of obtaining extramural funding as principal investigators of NIH grants, foundation awards and pharmaceutical support as well as mentoring faculty to early stage grants and career development awards.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a related area or equivalency and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Qualifications include a doctoral degree in demography, psychology, public health, sociology, economics, public policy, epidemiology, or another relevant field.
