Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions is seeking a Bridge Asset Management Engineer for our rapidly expanding Transportation Asset Management practice. Wood is a leader in asset management with a focus on the highway mode, serving federal and state DOTs, with increasing opportunities in other transportation modes. Wood has key contracts in place and a strong project portfolio, presenting opportunities for further expansion of this practice. We are looking for a motivated, hardworking candidate, with the blend of planning, engineering, and analytical acumen needed for this exciting market place.
Wood’s Transportation Asset Management practice is based in metro Washington DC, working nation - wide. Although placement in Wood’s Beltsville, MD or Chantilly, VA office is preferred, placement in another Wood E&IS office in the continental US is possible for the right candidate.
Contributes technical specialization for bridges to Wood’s Transportation Asset Management practice
Provides advanced technical knowledge in bridge asset management for federal, state and local governments, with a focus on highways, and has interest in other modes
Supports complex projects and leads smaller projects or phases of large projects
Develops new business through technical proposal development, networking, specialized service offerings, client interaction, conference participation, and development of professional reputation
Contributes positively to a committed, professional team environment
Acts as specialized resource working across the company, including for pertinent opportunities outside of highway transportation
Skills and Qualifications
An advanced degree in civil engineering is required, with specialization in one or more key facets of bridge asset management - Other combinations of planning, engineering, policy or analytical backgrounds with specialization in bridges will be considered
5+ - years specialization in Bridge Asset Management. PE license preferred - Exceptions considered
Knowledge of bridge design, construction, inspection, maintenance, and renewal as pertain to asset management
Extensive knowledge and experience with large datasets of bridge inventory, condition, maintenance and specialized engineering inspections
Knowledge of transportation asset management principles and emerging practices are essential
Experience in one or more of performance modeling, risk management, life - cycle planning, life - cycle cost analysis, for bridge asset management is highly desirable
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and data management skills are essential
You must be an excellent communicator to include technical writing, oral presentation, facilitation, executive level synthesis, and customer service
Demonstrated ability to develop workplans and to lead tasks within projects
Local, regional and national travel varying from 2 - 5 overnights per month should be anticipated
Must pass drug screen, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy
