Summary: Plans, coordinates, and directs quality program designed to ensure quality control and quality assurance of the production of products consistent with established standards by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (but not limited to). Other duties may be assigned.
Understand the customer’s needs and requirements to develop effective quality control processes
Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met
Actively work to understand top warranty items and develop action plans to provide long-term corrective action.
Set requirements for raw material for suppliers and monitor their compliance through inspection of incoming materials as required
Evaluate the continuation of business status for supplier’s based upon the quality performance requirements
Directs employees engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials and products.
Ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, supplier quality systems.
Manage the monitoring, measurement, specifications and review of internal processes that affect the quality of the organization’s products.
Ensure all quality related product development procedures are in adherence to the quality standards and requirements
Formulate and maintain quality objectives complementary to company policies and goals.
Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
Review all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
Keep management team abreast of significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
Prepare staffing plans to insure proper skill sets.
Investigate and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
Apply 6 sigma and Kaizen process methodologies.
Lead a team of Quality engineers, inspectors, auditors, and technicians and provide guidance and feedback
Oversee product recalls.
Responsible for accuracy and timely inspection/calibration of monitoring and measuring devices.
Maintains a working knowledge of standards, regulations/laws, issues, industry quality codes and news with respect to product (service) quality.
Report to top management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement.
Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, ISO 9001, and regulatory/legal requirements.
Ensure that processes needed for the Quality Management System (QMS) are
established, implemented and maintained.

Bachelor’s degree (B. S.) in an Engineering field or equivalent; and five to ten years’ related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
