The Patient and Family Experience Partner serves as a member of the Department of Patient and Family Experience and provides support to the UVM Medical Center by assisting with identifying, understanding and attending to opportunities to improve patient and family experience in all care settings.
The incumbent is responsible for proactively working with leadership and teams to review multiple sources of patient experience data and evaluate current performance, proactively address ongoing improvement opportunities and provide resources and access to best practices from within the organization and externally across the fields of healthcare to improve the patient and family experience.
The Patient and Family Experience Partner serves an an internal consultant to organizational leaders and departments to improve patient satisfaction and the patient and family experience. The Patient and Family Experience Partner is well versed in patient satisfaction measurement, statistical analysis, process improvement, survey administration, CMS regulations, national best practices and other topics related to patient experience/ satisfaction. The Partner reviews and analyzes data from a variety of sources related to patient experience and makes recommendations to operational and clinical leaders to improve performance. In conjunction with operational leaders, the Partner assists in teh development of long term, organization wide goals and action plans for improving the patient and family experience.
In addition, the Patient and Family Experience Partner provides expert consultation, coaching and training to the organization's employees in the application of key practices designed to improve the patient and family experience.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline required.
Master's degree in clinical health care, Health Care Administration, Communications, Psychology or related field preferred.
Certification as a Certified Patient Experience Professional is required within the first year.
Five (5) + years of experience in a health care setting with experience in patient satisfaction, data analysis, customer service, process improvement or related work is required.
Training background is preferred.
