Under the direction of the CEO, the Corporate Strategy and Performance Officer is responsible for coordinating the development of a clear and effective organizational strategy for the Authority. Duties include development of business strategy and working with key personnel to implement programs, policies, and standards related to corporate strategy and performance. This position involves working with internal and external parties in complex situations while maintaining a strong understanding of AAATA's organizational processes and how they interact. __________________________________________________________________________________________
Accountabilities and Essential Functions:
Lead and manage all activities associated with development of business strategy as directed by the CEO and Executive Team.
Assist in development of the strategic planning process, activities, steps, etc. and act in a leadership role in the implementation of those activities.
Develop analysis and synthesis materials, key facts and context to aid in strategy development.
Work with the CEO, Board of Directors, senior leadership, staff, key stakeholders, and the public to understand and include numerous points of view and interests.
Identify strategic opportunities and challenges for the organization.
Assist with articulation of a clear direction; responsible for ensuring the direction is communicated in a clear and concise way internally and externally.
Develop, implement, monitor and update related programs, policies, procedures and systems.
Help to build a culture of voluntary, consistent performance in line with the strategic direction among all staff.
Recommend and assist with the development of short- and long-range plans; gather, interpret, and prepare data for studies, reports and recommendations; coordinate activities with other departments/agencies as needed.
Monitor and coordinate implementation of the business strategy.
Lead and coordinate initiatives to ensure alignment with the corporate direction.
Assist the CEO with coordinating activities and priorities. Coordinate annual corporate work plan and related activities.
Develop action plans as needed.
Support senior leaders in implementing new approaches.
Collaborate with senior leadership to devise effective cross-functional solutions.
Oversee performance monitoring and reporting.
Responsible for strategic performance reporting and Board self-monitoring.
Provide support to Board of Directors related to Board policies and monitoring reports, as directed.
Assist with development, implementation, monitoring and use of an effective corporate operational performance measurement system.
Work with all business units and departments to collect and use data in order to manage performance, analyze trends, and spot opportunities.
Analyze the success of products, projects and activities.
Maintain knowledge and keep abreast of applicable programs, processes, concepts, philosophies etc. to keep strategic planning initiatives current and effective. Advise executive leadership of such.
Assist with other corporate initiatives and communications as needed.
Perform as an effective team player.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Certification(s) relevant to performance measurement, change management, and/or strategic planning desirable. Relevant certifications could include TQM, six sigma, ISO, balanced score cards, board governance, etc.
Experience with public sector, transportation, or Policy Governance desirable but not necessary.
Demonstrable experience with developing corporate strategic plans required.
Demonstrable experience with establishing and using performance measures required.
Demonstrable ability to analyze complex data and situations and to present meaningful context and conclusions.
Ability to interact with the public in a tactful and courteous manner and to maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
Ability to effectively work on multiple concurrent tasks with frequent interruptions.
Ability to skillfully manage projects to completion and personnel for efficient and effective performance.
