About Tualatin Valley Water District
The Tualatin Valley Water District (TVWD) is an award-winning, nationally prominent water provider located in suburban Washington County, Oregon, in the Portland-metropolitan area. Washington County is home to a thriving economy, world renowned businesses and vibrant communities. It is within 60 miles of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area and Mt. Hood National Forest to the east, and the beautiful Oregon Coast to the west.
Oregon’s second largest water provider, TVWD is a special district governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners who are elected at-large to four-year terms. The District serves more than 60,000 accounts and nearly 220,000 people. TVWD’s service area is largely residential, but also home to several large industrial customers, including Nike’s World Headquarters, Intel chip manufacturing and Reser’s Foods. The District is bisected by major highways, a light rail transit line and a network of recreational trails. Future growth potential for TVWD is expected in the form of single and multi-family housing, distribution and high technology manufacturing and commercial development. In order to meet current and future growth, TVWD is a majority partner... in the Willamette Water Supply Program, a $1.5 billion project to bring a third major water supply into the region from the mid-Willamette river in Wilsonville.
The District enjoys an excellent reputation among its customers and its local government partners throughout the region. TVWD is also well-known and respected at the national level through its involvement with and support for the American Water Works Association and the Association of Metropolitan Water Agencies.
