Position Summary: We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Senior Unified Collaboration Engineer
The SeniorUnified Collaboration Engineer is responsible for audio-visual system design and implementation at NYU Langone Health System. The Engineer will assist a multi-disciplinary design team to layout audio-visual components, create schematic and system drawings, compile specification documents, assemble design documentation and generate cost estimates. This individual would be expected to build and demonstrate mock-ups of systems designs at both large and small scale. With knowledge of state-of-the-art integrated audio, video, IT, collaboration and control systems technology, this individual will successfully provide professional designs and systems engineering support required to take a project from inception to completion/integration and client acceptance.
Develop comprehensive, audio-visual equipment designs, including low voltage wiring, trim-out, equipment rack and control room layout, system processing and control, display technologies and network systems for transport of high-bandwidth audio and video signals.
Participate in design, brainstorming, estimating meetings as needed.
Assist Project Management, Purchasing, Service, Fabrication to define the scope of work, interpret project specifications and drawings, determine system layout, programming requirements, system testing and develop bill of materials to include appropriate amount of job-related labor to generate comprehensive project equipment lists and perform the project
Lead, contribute and maintain a catalog of AV solutions and their underpinning Enterprise architectural standards.
Design the AV layouts using CAD and/or 3D building information modeling (REVIT).
Generate schematic diagrams showing integration of AV, control, and power distribution systems.
Participate in final drawing review processes and quality assurance assessment.
Coordinate design and engineering tasks with architects and engineers.
Coordinate with security experts to design systems for secure environments.
Perform physical integration and testing of AV components as needed.
Maintain high-level of personal expertise in current and future technology.
Contribute and participate in Design Department objectives and goals.

5 -10 years of experience in systems design and integration of audio, video, control systems, and production environments.
Familiarity and understanding of AV design production in AV floor plans, riser plans, elevations, sectionals, operation and control diagrams and writing specifications.
Working experience with Cisco Codecs, WebEx Teams Kit/Plus, WebEx Teams board, Touch 10, Surface Hub, Crestron, Biamp, Extron, Clear One and collaboration technologies - WebEx and Skype for business.
CTS Certification with CTS-D highly desired.
Experience in the design of network systems including VLANs/QoS used for the transport of audio and video signals.
Working knowledge of equipment connectivity, wiring, electronics, and operation, installation of professional audio, video, theatrical lighting, conferencing, and control equipment.
Experience reviewing bid documents for purposes of evaluating and preparing comprehensive bill of materials and scope of work descriptions.
Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
Superior interpersonal skills with a team player attitude, demonstrating the ability to manage projects and multiple tasks simultaneously and adjusting to shifting priorities.
Possess the ability to work at times on time-sensitive, priority projects.
Strong experience with computerized design programs including Revit, AutoCAD, Visio, and Microsoft Office is expected
Ability to work closely with a member of a team while at the same time having a high level of personal initiative to work without close supervision.
Commissioning of systems including audio systems tuning, video display calibration, setup of audio DSP systems, video processors and switchers, and participation in testing and checkout procedures.
Hands-on ability to wire low-voltage systems.
Integrated AV systems programming.
Familiarity with audio-visual design in secure environments.
4-6 years of experience in Unified Communications Engineering and operations.
