The American Association of Diabetes Educators (AADE) is currently searching for a Senior Manager, Diabetes Education Accreditation Program to be based in our Chicago office. If you answered yes to the questions above, this may be the position for you!
The Senior Manager, Diabetes Education Accreditation Program (DEAP) guarantees AADE’s National Accredited Organization (NAO) status remains at the highest level of quality, and in good standing with the Centers of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Additionally, the role maintains and ensures compliance with the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support, and reviews and updates AADE’s interpretive guidance of the National Standards.
Ensures staff proactively addresses accreditation needs of DSME/T Programs and AADE members.
Oversees policies, procedures and tools for DEAP applicant organizations to ensure streamlined and efficient application process.
Establishes and builds on external relationships to build and grow accreditation program through technical support, DSME workshops, and collaboration with Prevention team to provide additional services to DSMES programs.
Manage AADE’s training for accreditation-related volunteers (e.g., Voluntary Accreditation Auditors (VAA); individuals that conduct site visits and act as reviewers for continuing education requests)
Serves as a subject matter expert to AADE staff and member committees.
Provides professional perspective to support Association’s efforts in contributing to the evidence base on DSMES.
Previous experience in health care related practice management with chronic conditions required; DSMES programs preferred.
RN, RD, or Pharmacist background required. CDE and/or BC-ADM certification a plus.
Demonstrated experience with diabetes education, case management, or community outreach in a related area.
Three to five years of previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field of study preferred. Master’s degree a plus.
Knowledge and prior experience in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI).
Prior experience with accreditation compliance.
Prior experience with an accredited or recognized DSMES program preferred.
