The VP, Quality & Accreditation is responsible for the operational oversight of organizational and medical staff quality, patient safety, regulatory compliance and clinical initiatives related to reputation and payment-linked quality programs. As such this VP plays a central role in HSS’ goal to provide and be recognized as providing the highest quality musculoskeletal care. Reporting directly to the Chief Value Medical Officer (CVMO) and collaborating with all clinical and relevant administrative areas across the organization the VP, Quality & Accreditation:
Provides direct administrative support to the Board of Trustees chair of the Hospital’s board quality committee.
Provides direct oversight and review of the work products of clinical and administrative staffs supporting the Hospital’s physician peer review committee, ongoing professional practice evaluation and focused professional evaluation of the licensed medical staff including:
Collaboration with Physician leadership in support of medical staff learning and competency.
Support and/or performance of investigation into complaints about medical care in collaboration with the Office of the Patient Experience and Risk Management.
Assures alignment of processes and policy for peer review committees of other credentialed providers.
Coaches and educates staff in the history and methodologies of quality improvement with a goal of developing and retaining clinical staffs.
Supports the AVP of Quality & Accreditation in implementing the Hospital’s accreditation program, culture of safety programming, root cause analysis program and related reporting.
Collaborates with CVMO to develop and implement the HSS strategic value plan including development and measurement of the next generation of quality measures for surgical and non-surgical episodes of care and the efficient delivery of high-quality care for various populations.
Supports the vision of the CVMO to be the national leader in musculoskeletal health through clinical application of data science and publication of findings related to quality, efficiency and value.
Is highly collaborative and effective in relationship building and teamwork with other organizational stakeholders especially physicians and other senior leaders.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for health care quality, fluency in all aspects of performance measures/measurement, accreditation and peer-review. The role requires extensive collaboration and the ability to translate sometimes complex analyses to stakeholders in order to affect change.
